Are you in a financial rut? You know you’ve got to change, but you never do – why?
Yesterday I met with a lovely woman – Ellen. She was beautiful, kind, loving and full of enthusiasm for her passions however if you asked her, ‘Are you in a financial rut?’ she would reply, ‘YES’! Ellen explained that she simply can’t stand her life anymore – she’s very capable, understands all the manifestation laws and yet her ability to attract money is extremely limited.
She can see the rut she’s in yet with all her knowledge she can’t break free
There were two things I noticed about Ellen:
1. She thought SOME of the circumstances of her life were out of her control. Or, in other words, she blamed others (people, circumstances) for her situation. I admit that she did take quite a bit of responsibility for her predicament but not full responsibility. She explained that she fell into the ‘poor me’ trap and didn’t want to be a ‘poor me’ person but that’s how it was.
It’s imperative that you take full responsibility for your life. Ellen is not doing this yet.
Everything, and I mean everything, is created in your mind/body first and then it show up in your physical life. If you don’t get this yet it’s important to find ways to internalise this fact. Read books, blogs and join discussion groups – find ways to get your mind/body to KNOW that you are creating your reality through the vibration/energy of your beliefs, thoughts, expectations, etc you give off. You’re creating all the people, events and circumstances that are in your life right now.
As a side note it took me ages to truly KNOW that I create everything
At first I couldn’t believe it and then slowly I experimented and discovered that every time I shifted my inside energy my outside world changed. I used a combination of experimentation and reading as much as I could on the subject. Eventually I went from understanding the concept logically to truly knowing it. Once you get to knowing it, life seems to get even more exciting.
Back to Ellen…here’s her second issue:
2. Ellen didn’t see herself as number ONE. She didn’t think it was her right to put herself first – to ensure she has ‘me time’ and to work on developing who she is, what she wants and how she’s going to attract it. She didn’t think that having time to learn to love herself was appropriate. Ellen explained that there’s never enough time for her to work on herself.
Why don’t you love yourself enough to…
When she said that I asked, ‘Why don’t you love yourself enough to put yourself first?’ Here response was along the lines that she had to attend to everyone else.
Think about airplane protocol regarding oxygen masks – if the cabin loses pressure, you don’t attend to everyone else first, do you? No – you make sure you can breath so that you’re then alive to help other family members. The same principle applies with living your life. If you put yourself first and make sure you’re truly alive, everyone around you will benefit.
Focus on others before your self?
After Ellen’s response, I then went into a monologue about how it’s counterproductive to focus on others before yourself. If you don’t take care of you, you’re not helping anyone around you.
I know it’s hard. We grow up being told to look after others, be kind and make sure everyone else around us is happy but no one tells us to take time for ourselves. That of course, is being selfish. Well – be selfish!!! You’ll actually benefit yourself and everyone around you if you’re taking care of yourself.
What we have to realise is that the world has evolved in a particular way but things are changing now. It’s time to analyse the ‘rules’ and see what works (and keep) and see what doesn’t work and get rid of it.
You’re creating your life whether you’re conscious of it or not…
…why not take full responsibility, become conscious and create a life you really want?
It’s time to question everything – every rule, every institution and even every thought in your head. Just because we grew up being filled up with various beliefs doesn’t mean that we have to keep them.
On a personal note, I’m proud to admit that I spend time every day working on myself. I spend time educating myself on how to expand what’s possible – I’m always on the look out for how I can expand (and even remove) my belief systems. I contemplate how I feel, what’s working and what’s not working in my life. Furthermore, I discuss issues with friends that help me point out ‘wrong’ beliefs that I’m running.
I love me
The more I work on myself and figure out how to love me, the more love I have to give to hubby, my daughter and all the people around me. The more I clear out my financial beliefs that limit me, the more abundance comes my way. The more abundance that comes my way, the more my friends and family benefit from it. And on and on it goes.
Test it out for yourself. Read my book and do my ‘Life Changing Exercise,’ to shift your mind/body energy that’s creating your current reality to a new mind/body energy pattern. You change the inside and the outside has to follow suit.
