Movies like The Secret and the plethora of Law of Attraction ‘experts’ who have crawled out of the woodwork since the movie was released in 2006 all speak of how it’s possible to change your reality, based on how you think about things. But how do you change your reality?
Oprah, the all-powerful media mogul, has also read The Secret, seen the movie, and is a strong believer that what you think about affects your reality.
But what’s interesting to note is that while she does proclaim the Law of Attraction as an immensely positive and powerful force in anyone’s life, she acknowledges that it is only one factor. Just one of the many laws out there.

Doom and gloom from the 2007 - 2012 recession.
I’ve studied depressions, recessions, stock market crashes and bank failures for many years, and what strikes me most is the predictability of recessions. Just as seasons come and go, so too does the average temperature of the planet and the ebb and flow of money.
What also surprises me is how many millionaires and even billionaires are made as a result of recessions: men and women of average means before the crash, become fabulously wealthy afterwards. What makes them so significantly more successful than individuals supposedly wealthy before a crash?

A holistic approach to life is the most fulfilling way of living.
The holistic approach to life embraces all facets of being: the physical, emotional, and spiritual. And these things are inter-connected; one affects the others, and each affects how we feel. We have the ability to reason and we have choices. One of the best things we can do to help ourselves to feel good about our lives and to improve our overall wellbeing is to associate with compassionate people with whom we can have honest relationships that are mutually supportive.

Conventional Wisdom usually refers to the ideas, opinions, or understandings that are considered to be generally accepted by the majority. It is a collection of widely held beliefs on which most people live their lives. For example: “According to conventional wisdom, I should go to college to complete a degree so that I can earn a higher salary.”
The term Conventional Wisdom was first coined by John Kenneth Galbraith, who used it in The Affluent Society (1958) to describe economic ideas that are familiar, predictable, and therefore accepted by the general public. Galbraith’s use of the phrase referred to solid, staid, and pervasive ideas; more modern uses of the phrase often connote what’s trendy, intellectually fashionable, or hip. But whether new or old, the conventional wisdom is (as Galbraith noted) frequently wrong.
